Another Blue Santa Tourney is in the books with newly crowned Champions. In the Pro Mixed Doubles, Mike Fowler & Rhonda Haselbarth fought off Terry Creekmore and Kerri Haines Hagee to secure their 1st championship title. Following that final, Creekmore & Fowler teamed up and took their 1st Pro Centurions 120+ title by nudging past Bob Gresch & Ed Cortez. Darrin Moore and partner Yamil Morales claimed their 2 consecutive NPRA Pro Open doubles title while hometown team Steve Cowen & Pat Pascale settled for 2nd.
A special awards presentation jumpstarted this event with Lucas Martin and Gene Daigle being recognized for their heroic actions performed at NPRA’s last tournament on April 9th. While in the course of play, a player had gone into a cardiac arrest. From their career training, Daigle and Martin were able to sustain the fallen player until EMS arrived. Our fellow player survived this and has since then returned to his work and the courts.
NPRA was proud to recognize and present Gene Daigle and Lucas Martin with a Life Saving Award. NPRA would also like to recognize Chick Fil A as they provided food for our event. Proceeds of this event will go directly to our cause of helping injured law enforcement officers and the toys donated by our gracious players will be donated to the Pasadena Police Santa Program. Thanks to everyone who participated and we’ll see you back on the courts soon.
