DO:
Step forward, hit from chest high, force your opponent to stay on the side wall & hit an easier shot which is the pinch or cross court.

DON’T:
Drop back to 40 feet (more work) to let the ball drop (like you’ve been taught), let your opponent take center court and hit the harder shot which is the Down The Line from much further away.
