Kane Waselenchuk defeated Rocky Carson, 11-6, 11-4, 8-11, 11-4, to win the International Racquetball Tour (IRT) final at the 2017 UnitedHealthcare US Open in Minneapolis. The win is Waselenchuk’s 13th US Open title. He’s undefeated in US Open finals.
The match started slowly, and Carson had a small lead early in game one at 4-2. They were tied at 5-5, when Waselenchuk took a timeout. From there he seemed to turn it up a notch, and scored six of the next seven points to win 11-6. Waselenchuk wasn’t getting his drive serves in early in the game, and lob served on second serve.
